Links to specific posts
I think we should refer not to Na'viteri as a whole when using it as a source in Vocabulary, but rather link to the specific post. I'm not really sure how wiki templates work, but I was thinking something like this would be nice:
Obviously these would all have to be manually added to the vocabulary page. I volunteer to do it, if people think this is a good idea. --Carborundum 12:23, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- In theory, I think this is a good idea. The only problem is that we'll end up having to create a template for every blog post Frommer ever makes. That's not terrible, perhaps, so long as we know there will be people around to do so, but it could get a little tedious.
- Templates are just special pages. For the link templates I've been using, they are very, very simple templates, simple substitutions. They are there to make typing easier and to keep the vocab entries uncluttered with giant URLs — editing is messy enough as it is. Templates can be a bit smarter, and we might want to go that route, so that the Naviteri template works by including the blog post date. That's not quite the same as having a direct link to (http://naviteri.org/2011/03/22/), but wouldn't require a brand new template for each new blog post. — Wm.annis 18:07, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
